Mumbai: A day after X’s owner Elon Musk announced that it will increase the visibility of govt demands to restrict or remove content, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday said all social media platforms must follow suit. “Elon Musk has taken a decisive step for freedom of expression. All govt orders to remove posts or impose restrictions on X will now be placed in the public domain. This transparency will expose the real face of censorship. If any govt wants content removed, it should do so openly—not in the shadows,” he said. Musk has said X’s move is part of a broader effort to provide greater transparency over content moderation, recommendation systems and govt involvement in regulating online speech. “Any censorship required by govts is now clearly visible,” he said.
