Kanpur: In view of the severe heatwave conditions and the red alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the district administration on Wednesday ordered the closure of all schools conducting classes from Class IX to XII till May 28, 2026.The city has been recording temperatures around 44 degree Celsius for the past four days, causing widespread discomfort and health concerns among residents.Keeping in mind the health and safety of students, the district administration declared summer vacation with immediate effect till May 28 in all schools of Kanpur Nagar district.On Tuesday, the administration had ordered closure of all schools from primary level to Class VIII till May 31 due to the continuing hot climatic conditions.
