Ajmer: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Monday arrested the superintendent engineer of Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Babu Lal, for allegedly accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe from a contractor to issue a pending work order. He was caught red-handed at his office, and officials said his assets are also being verified.According to ACB circle inspector Meena Beniwal, the contractor had complained that the engineer demanded Rs 2 lakh to clear a Dec 2025 work order and allegedly delayed bills to press for payment. After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap at the AVVNL head office. When the contractor handed over Rs 50,000, the team arrested the accused.TNN
