Ajay Devgn is returning with the third instalment of the crime suspense thriller Hindi version of ‘Drishyam 3’ which is set to the conclusionary part of the story unlike the original Malayalam film’s third part. Recently the Bollywood star shared that he wants Malayalam superstar Mohanlal to watch the upcoming film and share his feedback.
Ajay Devgn wants Mohanlal to watch Hindi version of ‘Drishyam 3’
According to a report by IANS, Ajay Devgn while speaking at the trailer launch event said that he hopes that Mohanlal who plays the original character of Georgekutty likes the film, as he believes the Hindi version has a completely different story from the Malayalam franchise. He also added that making the third part was a big challenge because the story is different from the Malayalam films.“In fact, I would like to say that this film is a big challenge for us because, with Mohanlal sir and Joseph, this is the first film—the third, actually. The second was also, in a way, inspired by the original. But this is a completely different script. So, their three are completely different. Our film is completely different. It’s not like we’ve made a few changes; it’s completely different,” he said.
Ajay seeks Mohanlal and director Jeethu’s approval
Ajay also said that he wants Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph to watch the film. He hopes they enjoy the new story. “So, I want Mohanlal sir and Joseph to see the film because I would also like their approval, you know, that they love it. That would make me very happy,” the ‘Singham’ actor added.
Making ‘Drishyam 3’ was a challenge
The 57 year old actor also revealed that the team was initially not sure if another film would be made after ‘Drishyam 2’. He shared that making another chapter was difficult because the story had to continue from where the second film ended while keeping the twists and suspense. He said, “I think after ‘Drishyam 2,’ we didn’t know whether this film would be made or not. Because it’s not a film where you work out a script and say, ‘Let’s make a sequel.’ It has to have the twists and turns, and being in the same area, starting the story from where it ended, taking it forward and making it so intriguing and interesting, I think it’s nearly impossible.”
Team working on the script for two and half year
Ajay said director Abhishek Pathak worked with the writers for two and a half years before developing the script. He also feels the story should end with this film and should not be taken further. “So, after that, Abhishek came with a thought. We all liked it. He worked with the writers for two and a half years. He worked very hard, and he came out with a script which I really think Abhishek had cracked. It was brilliant. It is brilliant. And we all also felt that there should be a conclusion. Because I don’t think we should even attempt to go beyond this. Because everything, if you leave it on top, that’s the best thing.”‘Drishyam The Conclusion’, also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Prakash Raj, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav. Interestingly, the film is set to hit theatres on October 2, 2026, as the date plays a central role in the first part.
