Srinagar, June 26: The Awami Ittehad Party’s secret ballot across all 18 Assembly segments of the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency to gauge public opinion on the proposed resignation of jailed MP Engineer Rashid is underway.
Voters are casting their ballots by choosing “Yes”, “No”, or “NOTA” on whether Rashid should resign from the Lok Sabha. The voting process is being conducted in the presence of observers appointed to oversee the exercise.
AIP leaders said the initiative is aimed at reflecting the will of the people before taking a final decision. After the voting concludes, the party will hold a press conference to announce the turnout, share the outcome, and brief the media on the next course of action.
