The video also drew humorous reactions from viewers.

A man who says he studied computer engineering, completed a master’s degree and trained at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai has drawn attention online after sharing how he eventually chose the life of a sanyasi. In a conversation recorded by travel and documentary creator Mohit Pawar, @nomadic_mohit, the saffron-clad man recounts his education, his time at BARC and the reaction to his decision to leave his earlier life behind. The video was shared on Instagram. In the exchange, the man speaks openly about his past and explains why he considers the time between birth and death the most important part of life.

From computer engineering to BARC training

The conversation begins with Pawar asking the man what he was doing in 2002. “B.Tech. Computer Engineering,” the man replies. Pawar then asks whether he took up a job after completing his degree. The man explains that he went to BARC, where he underwent six months of training. “Six months training at Baba Atomic Research Center,” he says. When Pawar seeks clarification about the institution, the man confirms that he means BARC in Mumbai, referring to Dadar during the conversation. He goes on to explain that he completed an M.Tech degree and subsequently left to pursue sanyas. “M.Tech was done. Then I left for Sanyas,” he says. The exchange suggests that his education and professional experience came before his decision to follow a spiritual path. However, the video does not establish his precise role at BARC or provide independent documentation of his employment history.According to the video, the man also says he spent about a year at the research centre, including his training period.

When his decision surprised his former workplace

The man also recounts how someone from his former professional life reacted when he decided to pursue sanyas. In the video, he says a CEO asked him where he was. He replied that he was going to become a sanyasi and had gone to live with other sanyasis. According to his account, the response was blunt: “Are you mad?” The man recalls the exchange with a smile.

Why he says life is important

The most revealing part of the conversation comes when the man discusses his understanding of life. “Birth and death. At the same time,” he says, referring to the fixed span between the two. He then explains that the time between birth and death is short. “Small time is life,” he says. He repeats the point, adding, “It’s life. It’s very important.” The video does not provide further details about when he took sanyas, how long he has lived that way or what his daily routine involves.

Social media reacts to the engineer’s story

The video also drew humorous reactions from viewers, with many joking about the man’s unusual career path and imagining similar choices for themselves. One user joked, “AI is in offices .. men are in mountains.” Another user wrote, “This is what happens when you study too much. That’s why I quit studying.” One user commented, “Never judge a book by its cover.” Another user speculated about his background, writing, “He is from Kerala for sure,” while another said, “The way he speaks. .He must be a Malayali..”Some viewers saw the story as a possible glimpse of their own future. One user wrote, “This is how I see myself in 10 years.” Another commented, “This is where I see myself in 5 years.” Meanwhile, one user joked about the engineering profession, writing, “Generally an engineer does everything except engineering.” Another summed up the sentiment with, “Me after 1st semester.”
