Ahmedabad: Following heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the district administration has extended the closure of schools and colleges across Ahmedabad on Saturday, prioritising student safety.According to instructions issued by the collector, all govt, grant-in-aid and private schools in Ahmedabad city (east and west) as well as rural areas will remain closed. The order also applies to all colleges in the district. Additionally, all anganwadis run by AMC will remain shut until July 27.AMC School Board has also announced a complete suspension of academic activities in all municipal primary schools on Saturday.Authorities said a decision on reopening from Monday onwards will be taken after reviewing the weather situation.
