Ahmedabad: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in the Chaar Maliya locality of Vatva on Tuesday.Vatva police inspector A A Vachheta said the accused was arrested shortly after a complaint was lodged by the girl’s mother on Wednesday. The accused, a 34-year-old married man, allegedly called the girl to his house on the pretext of preparing tea.“The girl reportedly went to the neighbour’s home and was asked to prepare tea. Later, the accused allegedly sent her outside to buy snacks,” said Vachheta.According to the FIR, when the minor returned with the snacks, the accused allegedly made inappropriate physical advances and assaulted her. He also allegedly warned the girl not to reveal the incident to anyone.The complainant stated that when her daughter did not return for a long time, she grew concerned and went to the neighbour’s house. Observing the child’s condition, she suspected something was wrong and questioned her. “The girl was initially unable to explain what had happened because she was frightened,” said Vachheta. On Wednesday, the minor informed her mother about the incident.
