Ahmedabad: Sarkhej police on Friday night registered a case after a 38-year-old man alleged that his 15-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted multiple times by a relative and later threatened with the circulation of her private photographs.According to the complaint, the family currently lives in a rented house in Gota and had earlier resided in Sarkhej from 2020 to Aug 2025. In 2023, a 35-year-old relative allegedly moved into the neighbourhood with his parents and began visiting their home frequently. The accused is a native of Patan, the FIR states.As the accused continued to remain in touch with the family even after they shifted from Sarkhej, he questioned his daughter. She allegedly disclosed that in 2024, when her parents were away at work, the accused repeatedly came to the house and forced her into sexual acts. The FIR also states that he photographed intimate moments on his mobile phone.The family initially tried to settle the matter within the extended family, got the photographs deleted and warned the accused against contacting the girl. They did not approach police at the time as he had reportedly returned to his native village in Patan district.According to the complaint, on May 31, the girl informed her father that the accused had resumed contacting her through different mobile numbers and was threatening to make the photographs viral unless she complied with his demands. Following discussions with relatives, the family approached police and lodged a complaint under charges of repeated rape, rape of a girl below 16 years of age, and other relevant provisions of the Pocso Act.
