Ahmedabad: A 33-year-old Vastral resident lodged a complaint with Ramol police after he was allegedly assaulted and threatened by his girlfriend’s former lover and two unidentified associates near a residential parking area late on Thursday night.According to the FIR registered on Friday, the complainant is in a relationship for about a month with a woman living nearby, and the couple plans to marry. The woman was previously in contact with the accused around five years ago and intended to marry him, but later ended the relationship and stopped communicating.The complainant said the incident occurred after he returned from dinner with his girlfriend and her friends. As he approached his scooter, the accused and the two men allegedly assaulted him with an iron rod.The complainant said residents of the woman’s society gathered after he raised an alarm. His girlfriend informed the police, while others called an ambulance. He was taken for treatment and later lodged a complaint with Ramol police under sections of the BNS pertaining to voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, criminal intimidation and other offences.
