Ahmedabad: In a significant move to address the growing stray cattle menace in the city, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has floated a Rs 1.9-crore e-tender to hire specialised veterinary and sanitation personnel for its Cattle Nuisance Control Department (CNCD).Under the proposal, the civic body plans to engage veterinary doctors, para-veterinarians, livestock inspectors, and sanitation workers on a one-year outsourced contract. The personnel will assist in key field operations, including capturing stray cattle, impounding them in municipal cattle ponds, tagging animals, and fitting them with RFID chips.The outsourced teams will also operate mobile veterinary vans and provide treatment and care for sick or injured animals. AMC has fixed a monthly remuneration of Rs 60,000 for veterinary doctors and Rs 22,500 for para-veterinary and other technical staff.
