Rourkela: Ahead of Rath Yatra, a bicycle mechanic from Subarnapur district has captured attention with a stunning collection of miniature artworks dedicated to Lord Jagannath.Muna Mahana (32) of Subalaya village, crafted a 3mm-tall idol of Lord Jagannath from neem wood, a 2mm idol placed inside a two-inch bamboo chariot and preserved in a three-inch bottle, and a Chaturdha Murti standing less than 3mm high. His latest creations include a four-inch Jagannath idol made from Gunduchi creeper and a miniature Srimandir sculpted from jhuna (a natural resin).Muna creates intricate Jagannath-themed artworks using unconventional materials to promote and celebrate Jagannath culture every year before Rath Yatra. This year, he began work from Snana Purnima and has produced several miniature pieces depicting Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.“I earn my livelihood by repairing bicycles, but in my free time I create miniature artworks of Lord Jagannath using different materials. Through these creations, I want to promote and propagate Jagannath culture,” Muna said.
