Chandigarh: During a session on ply and furniture industry on the concluding day of the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit (PPIS) on Sunday, Punjab forests and wildlife preservation secretary Priyank Bharti said agroforestry was proposed to be exempted from the Tree Protection Bill, which was in the pipeline. He said agroforestry, being the source of raw material for the furniture and ply sector, was economically viable and ecologically sustainable.
