Kolkata: Display ‘addiction-free schools’ messages at prominent locations of campuses to build awareness, CISCE has urged its affiliated schools.A CISCE notice said the directive followed a communication from the department of school education & literacy, ministry of education, which called for interventions to declare educational campuses and areas within 500m radius of institutes as ‘addiction-free schools’. Apart from putting up the message, schools have also been asked to use the official templates provided by the ministry of education or the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).The notice read, “The signage should be clearly visible to students, parents and visitors and appropriately maintained as a visible affirmation of the school’s commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and addiction-free learning environment.” Schools also have to register on Nasha Mukt Vidyalaya portal.
