Srinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu & Kashmir, today conducted a conference of Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) at ACB Headquarters, Peerbagh, Srinagar, to review the functioning of the departmental vigilance mechanism and strengthen coordination in matters related to vigilance and misconduct.
The conference was inaugurated and chaired by Sh. Shakti Pathak, IPS, Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, J&K, in the presence of senior officers of ACB Headquarters. As many as 51 Departmental Vigilance Officers from Kashmir-based departments participated in the conference.
During the conference, the Director ACB reviewed the matters pending with the participating DVOs and stressed upon the need to expedite the disposal of old pending cases on priority. He emphasized that complaints indicating any element of misconduct on the part of public servants should be subjected to proper and thorough enquiry.
The DVOs were advised to ensure that enquiry reports are comprehensive and clearly bring out the facts and any element of misconduct established during the enquiry. The Director further urged the officers to remain vigilant about malpractices in their respective districts and departments and to promptly communicate any such instances to the ACB for further necessary action.
As part of the professional inputs provided during the conference, a detailed presentation on the roadmap for conducting enquiries by DVOs was also made. Relevant reading material was provided to the participating District Vigilance Officers to facilitate effective discharge of their vigilance responsibilities.
The conference provided a platform for reviewing pending vigilance matters, sharing professional inputs and strengthening the institutional mechanism for timely detection and reporting of misconduct and malpractices in government departments.
