Kolkata: The Bidhannagar ACJM’s court has directed TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee to appear before it on July 18, after he failed to turn up to provide his voice sample for the second consecutive day.The case stems from Banerjee’s alleged “DJ remarks” made during a public meeting in Baguiati ahead of the assembly polls.On Wednesday, the state’s lawyers informed the court that the MP was repeatedly defying its directives, causing investigators and voice experts to wait for hours in vain. The CID urged the court to take strict legal action.
