Prayagraj: On a call by Aam Admi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, party workers took out a “bhiksha-tan” (begging/fund-seeking) campaign in the city on Sunday to mark their protest against the alleged theft of donations and offerings made by devotees at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.Led by AAP district president Sarvesh Yadav, party workers marched from the protest site at Patthar Girja Ghar towards Civil Lines Subhash Crossing, carrying traditional scarves and placards and raising slogans. Workers alleged that they were stopped by police but continued their protest and prepared a cheque of Rs 420 to send to Champat Rai, vice president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Party workers demanded an impartial inquiry into the alleged loot and strict action against the guilty.Yadav said Lord Ram is the supreme symbol of faith and dignity for all and millions of devotees from across the country and abroad contributed their hard-earned money for the construction of the grand temple, while office-bearers of the projected looted the sacred donations. “This is betrayal of the sentiments of millions of Ram devotees,” said Yadav.
