Kolkata: Aadhaar services in Bengal will be expanded, chief executive officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India, Bhuvnesh Kumar, said after he inspected the UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Asansol on Sunday.Earlier, eight UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendras with 72 Aadhaar enrolment kits (AEKs) were operational in eight districts of the state. These are now being increased to 22 in 21 districts, in a phased manner, where services will be delivered through a total of 181 AEKs. Directly operated by UIDAI and managed by Protean eGov Technologies Ltd, the centre provides comprehensive enrolment and update services. Kumar monitored enrolment processes, biometric updates for children, demographic and contact detail modifications.
