In a couple of weeks, investigators are expected to release their final report into the crash of Air India Flight AI171.
The Ahmedabad-to-London flight fell from the sky less than a minute after takeoff last June. There were 242 people on board, and all but one died.
Among the victims were Javed Ali, his wife Mariam and their two children.
We spoke to their family in Mumbai, where Javed’s brother, Imtiyaz Ali, and his mother Farida Bano reflected on how the loss changed their lives and how they learned to carry their grief – sometimes feeling as though Javed was still with them.
