Gadchiroli: A forest department team in Gadchiroli detained 12 alleged poachers during a jungle patrol in Alapalli forest range on Sunday evening, seizing wildlife body parts and poaching equipment from their possession. Cases are being lodged under Indian Forest Act, 1927, and Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.Acting on a tip-off that a group was hiding in the forest for poaching, the patrol team detained all 12 alleged poachers on the spot. The team recovered 4 Indian giant squirrels, 1 flying squirrel, 1 florican, an owl, other wildlife body parts and material used for poaching.
