Patna: The Bihar Congress has launched a two programmes— a statewide digital membership drive and a training initiative rooted in Gandhian thought for select party workers.State Congress president Rajesh Ram on Friday launched the digital membership campaign, ‘Srijan Saathi Jansampark Abhiyan’. On Saturday, he inaugurated a three-day training programme, Sarvodaya Sankalp Shivir, for 40 selected workers at the party headquarters.Under the digital drive, any person aged 18 years or above, not affiliated with any political party and subscribing to the Congress ideology, can enrol as a Srijan Saathi.The party has also assigned enrolment targets to key functionaries—district presidents (2,000), block presidents (200), state vice-presidents (3,000), general secretaries (2,000) and state secretaries (1,000). Additionally, aspirants for district-level posts must enrol at least 200 members.The 40 trainees, shortlisted from 100 identified workers, are being trained in the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, including truth, non-violence and Sarvodaya (uplift of all), along with his life and work ethic. After the training, they will be deployed at district and block units.The camp is being organised with support from the All India Congress Committee and the state unit. National programme coordinator and former DGP Varun Sagar addressed the inaugural session.
