Prayagraj: A joint team of Patti police and special operation group (SOG) on Thursday arrested a man, Shiv Kumar Yadav of Dhangar Saray Chivlaha, on the charges of illegal cultivation of opium .After completing all the administrative and legal process, including on site-verification, the police team, destroyed the crop.A senior cop told TOI that. “Considering the seriousness of the matter, the revenue and administration officials were also called to the spot for verification.”“Illegal cultivation of opium was completely eradicated by completing the legal formalities in the dignified presence of the officials. A case has been registered under section 8 and 18 of the NDPS Act against the accused for illegal business by taking land as share cropping”, he added.
