Mumbai: A 33-year-old micro-tunneling worker was killed in a tragic road accident near Bhandup Pumping Station early Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Chandan Kumar Madan Prasad, had come from Bihar to work as a fitter craftsman with Gypsum Structural India Private Limited.According to the police, the incident happened on Tuesday early morning at around 5.30 am, when an ice truck allegedly rammed into him at high speed from the Airoli Bridge side. Two of his colleagues, Jo Jo Thomas and Mukesh Kumar Singh, sustained minor injuries, police said.Prasad was initially taken to Savarkar Hospital and later shifted to Fortis Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival at 6.25 am.Police have seized the vehicle and registered a case against the driver, Mohammed Jan Mohammad Rathi, for rash and negligent driving. Investigations are underway.
