“On April 27, another supplementary list will be out for the second phase of elections, scheduled on April 29. I am very happy and proud of the judiciary. I fought this case myself and we got this verdict. There’s no one happier than me today,” Banerjee said in Cooch Behar.
“I’ll ask my workers to make voter forms on the basis of this list by tonight, so that people can vote,” she said.
“Everyone should appeal at the Tribunal, and you’ll get your rights reinstated,” Banerjee said.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court invoked its powers under Article 142 to rule that those whose appeals against exclusion from the voters’ list will be allowed by Appellate tribunals to vote in the upcoming Bengal polls.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi invoked its powers under Article 142 to ensure that eligible voters are not left out of the upcoming assembly polls.

The court said individuals whose appeals against exclusion from the electoral list are allowed by appellate tribunals will be permitted to vote in the two-phase elections scheduled for April 23 and April 29.
