Pune: The Airport police arrested two men, Pritam Praful Kulkarni (37) of Wadgaon Sheri and Ubed Ansar Khan (27) of Hadapsar from a spot on the Kharadi bypass on April 8 and recovered mephedrone drugs and an SUV totally worth Rs 26.72 lakhs.Police said Kulkarni is unemployed, while Khan is a private driver.Deputy commissioner of police (Zone VII) Somay Munde said, “The two had brought the drugs to sell them to a few individuals involved in parties and in the pubs. We are questioning the duo on these individuals”.“The two told us that they brought the mephedrone drugs from Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, there are a couple of units that manufacture mephedrone drugs, and these drugs are brought by a few people based there. The local drug dealers sold these drugs to the duo,” he said.Munde said, “The drugs were being taken to Pune, and the duo was selling them to the end consumers. The duo was on their way to deliver the drugs to the individuals when our police team received information about the drugs. The two were travelling in the SUV, which is owned by Khan’s friend, when our team nabbed him. We have seized the SUV worth around Rs 10 lakhs and rest is the cost of the drugs”.
