Gurgaon: Haryana govt has initiated disciplinary actions against revenue officials after irregularities were detected in registry-related work across multiple tehsils. The actions — against Badshapur naib tehsildar Mahender Singh and others — come after anomalies were found in registry-related processes during administrative scrutiny. A draft charge-sheet will be filed against Singh within a week. Immediate suspension of three registry clerks (RCs) have also been ordered pending further inquiry. Directions were issued by state’s financial commissioner and additional chief secretary, revenue and disaster management department — as part of a crackdown on alleged procedural lapses in the functioning of tehsil offices in Gurgaon. According to an official order issued on March 12, the department decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings under Rule 7 of the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 2016 against the naib tehsildar. Rule 7 provides full procedure for conducting a departmental inquiry before imposing major penalties on a govt servant. The suspended officials included Amit Raghav from Wazirabad tehsil, Amita from Kadipur tehsil and Aarti from Badshahpur tehsil.Haryana govt has directed the district administration to take prompt steps to proceed with the disciplinary process. Additional chief secretary Sumita Mishra instructed the Gurgaon deputy commissioner to ensure that the draft charge sheet against the officer concerned was prepared and sent to Haryana govt within a week. The department also sought a detailed report on the action taken in the matter. Officials said the suspensions were ordered with immediate effect as a precautionary measure while the matter was investigated further. Sources in the revenue department said the irregularities came to light in different tehsils of the district. While the exact nature of the anomalies was not yet officially detailed, officials indicated that the govt treated the matter “seriously”.The action had an immediate impact on the functioning of tehsil offices. Following the suspension of the registry clerks, work related to property registrations and other documentation was disrupted in the Wazirabad, Kadipur and Badshahpur tehsils on Friday morning. Several people who came to complete registry formalities faced delays as staff availability became limited.Local sources said routine operations in the registry branches were affected for several hours, though officials were attempting to make alternate arrangements to restore services.Revenue department officials said the govt was committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in the functioning of tehsil offices, particularly in registry-related work, which directly affected property transactions and public dealings.
