120 candidates appeared in viva-voce for Civil Judge posts, four results withheld
Srinagar, Feb 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Tuesday declared the result of candidates who appeared in the viva-voce for the J&K Civil Services (Judicial) Examination–2025, shortlisting 41 candidates for medical examination in accordance with the relevant recruitment rules.
According to an official notification issued by JKPSC Secretary Bashir Ahmad Dar, the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs had referred 42 posts of Civil Judge (Junior Division) to the Commission for recruitment through a competitive examination.
The posts were advertised through Notification No. 07-PSC(DR-P) of 2025 dated May 14, 2025. The Preliminary Examination was conducted on September 28, 2025, in which 2,974 candidates appeared.
As per the criteria fixed by the Commission, 1,016 candidates qualified for the Mains Examination, the result of which was declared on October 13, 2025. The Mains Examination was held from November 16 to November 26, 2025.
Subsequently, 124 candidates qualified for the interview stage, as notified on January 20, 2026. However, the candidature of one candidate bearing Roll No. 7901909 was initially rejected on January 30, 2026 for failing to produce an Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate in accordance with the J&K Reservation Rules. The candidate was later permitted to appear in the interview following directions from the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The viva-voce of 124 candidates was conducted from February 17 to February 24, 2026 at the JKPSC office in Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
During its meeting held on February 24, 2026, the Commission resolved to declare the result of 120 candidates who appeared in the interview by notifying their aggregate marks, while the result of four candidates has been withheld.
In accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Judicial) Recruitment Rules, 1967, along with subsequent amendments and reservation rules, the Commission has published the results in Annexure-I of the notification.
Based on the aggregate merit in the written examination and viva-voce, 41 candidates have qualified for medical examination and have been listed in Annexure-II.
The shortlisted candidates have been directed to report to the respective Medical Boards constituted or to be constituted at Government Medical College Jammu and Government Medical College Srinagar for medical examination as per the prescribed proforma.
The date, venue and constitution of the Medical Boards will be notified separately, and candidates will be required to deposit the prescribed fee before undergoing the medical examination.
