Varanasi: Regional Resource Centre (Eastern Region), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS–BHU), is going to host a 3-day national conference on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Education, ‘AI for Viksit Bharat: Transforming HealthCare and Learning (NCAIHC 2026)’, from Feb 14 to 16.Talking to reporters on Thursday, IMS–BHU Director, Dr S N Sankhwar, said the conference aimed to bring together medical professionals, technology experts, policymakers, academicians and researchers on a single platform to collectively envision future of intelligent and technology-driven healthcare.
Aligned with PM’s vision for Digital India and Viksit Bharat, the conference focuses on how (AI) and digital health solutions can make healthcare more accessible, affordable, efficient and inclusive, especially for underserved and remote populations.The core objective of NCAIHC 2026 is to explore how AI can support early disease detection, improved clinical decision-making, expanded telemedicine services, enhanced medical education and efficient healthcare delivery systems. Beyond discussions, the conference aims to develop a clear and actionable roadmap for the future of intelligent healthcare in India.A key highlight of the conference was pivotal role of Regional Resource Centre (Eastern Region), IMS–BHU, a unit of ministry of health & family welfare. RRC–East currently supports UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, delivering essential telemedicine services, thereby strengthening last-mile healthcare delivery.
