Belagavi: The Yellammana Gudda at Savadatti, the revered shrine of the deity Renuka Yellamma that attracts lakhs of devotees from Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra, is prepared for the Bharata Hunnime fair, beginning on Feb 1.Sri Renuka Yellamma Temple Development Authority has made extensive arrangements to facilitate devotees. Considering the winter season, hot water facility has been provided in 28 bathing complexes. To ensure adequate illumination during night hours, 41 high-mast lights have been installed across the temple premises. 50 mobile charging points have also been identified for public use.
Traffic movement and parking have been streamlined with clear directional signage. Special arrangements, including drinking water facilities, have been made for cattle, as many devotees arrive in bullock carts. Drinking water kiosks have been set up at multiple locations for devotees. A devotee-friendly help centre will function to provide information and address grievances promptly. Except during morning and evening puja hours, devotees will be allowed darshan at all other times.Deputy commissioner Mohammad Roshan has urged devotees to maintain peace and make use of the facilities provided. SP K Ramarajan said special emphasis is laid on traffic management this year, including a ‘no parking’ zone on Jogulabhavi Road, with 600 police personnel and 500 Home Guards deployed to maintain law and order.
