Elections to the Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduate constituencies are scheduled for early next year, but preparations have already begun in all three parties. Together, the two constituencies cover 77 Assembly constituencies, and all parties are treating the polls as a mid-term mandate ahead of the Assembly elections.
The Congress has already announced candidates for both seats. The party has decided to field Sama Rammohan Reddy from the Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad constituency and Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy from the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency. he Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad seat is currently held by the BRS, while the Congress holds the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda seat. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has deputed senior ministers and party leaders to each Assembly constituency to build a strong ground presence ahead of the elections.
The BJP is planning to field its state president, Ram Chander Rao, who won the Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad seat in 2015 but lost it to the BRS in 2021. By fielding a strong candidate, the BJP wants to send a message to party workers that it is a serious contender in the elections. The party is still looking for a candidate for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency.
