Srinagar, Oct 18: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday condemned the reported attack on a Kashmir-bound passenger bus near Kurukshetra in Haryana and urged the state government and police to identify those responsible and take action against them.
The Chief Minister’s reaction came after National Conference spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar raised concerns over an alleged incident in which stones and bricks were reportedly hurled at a bus bearing a Jammu and Kashmir registration number while it was travelling from Delhi to Srinagar.
In a post on X, Dar described the incident as an alleged hate crime and shared a video purportedly showing the bus.
Reacting to the post, Omar Abdullah termed the incident unfortunate and called upon the Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and the state police to take appropriate action.
“This unfortunate incident should never have taken place. I hope the Haryana government lead by @NayabSainiBJP ji & @police_haryana catch the culprits & take action to ensure these things don’t happen again,” Abdullah wrote on X.
