Ferozepur: Punjab Police’s counter-intelligence wing has arrested a woman for allegedly transmitting classified information about the Indian Army to Pakistan’s ISI and army, according to a statement issued by Ferozepur police on Saturday.The role of two army personnel, deployed along the India-China border, is also being investigated, the statement said.Main suspect Gurnoor Sidhu, a resident of Faridkot, was arrested near an under-construction bridge on Hussainiwala border road. She is being interrogated in police custody, police said.According to the statement, a case has been registered against the three accused at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) police station in Fazilka under Sections 3 and 4 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923.Police said they received information on Thursday that the accused were allegedly conspiring to pass classified information about military zones and cantonments to Pakistani agencies. The two army personnel allegedly collected the information, while Sidhu facilitated its transmission using mobile phones, tablets and the internet, the statement said.Security agencies are investigating whether sensitive information about the Faridkot military cantonment has also been transmitted to Pakistan, the statement said.
