Patiala: Punjabi University has secured a place for 15 of its faculty members in Stanford University’s 2026 list of the world’s top 2% scientists, the university said in Patiala on Oct 10.Thirteen faculty members featured in the single-year category for 2025 research and nine in the career-long category, with overlap bringing the total to 15.The rankings were based on c-scores, calculated with and without self-citations, among the world’s top 1 lakh scientists.The single-year list includes Ram Sarup Singh, SK Ashok Kumar, Parveen Lata, Amteshwar Singh Jaggi, Om Silakari, Narinder Pal Singh, Ashok Kumar Malik, Amanpreet Kaur, Nirmal Singh, Subhjeet Panda, Rajesh Kumar Goyal, Puneetpal and Gulshan Bansal.The career-long list includes Ram Sarup Singh, Ashok Kumar Malik, Ashok Kumar Tiwari, Amteshwar Singh Jaggi, Amanpreet Kaur, Om Silakari, Nirmal Singh, BB Chandan Singh and Parveen Lata.Vice-chancellor Jagdeep Singh congratulated the faculty members and said the achievement reflected Punjabi University’s strengthening research culture and academic environment. He expressed hope that more faculty members would feature in the list in future.
