T’puram: Two men were arrested for allegedly stopping a woman on a public road in Varkala and attempting to forcibly remove her clothes on Wednesday.The accused were Jayan, 54, and Noushad, 46, both of Varkala.According to the complaint, the two men intercepted the woman and allegedly attempted to forcibly remove her clothes with the intention of humiliating her. The woman strongly resisted their attempt, following which the accused allegedly abused her.The incident left the woman distressed and frightened. She subsequently approached Varkala Police and lodged a complaint.A case was registered against them under provisions relating to insulting the modesty of a woman and other relevant sections of law. SI Ashik Ravi and his team made the arrest.The accused were produced before the Varkala court and remanded in judicial custody.
