Kanpur: Police registered an FIR against a man for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl in Hamirpur district on Wednesday afternoon. The child was sent to hospital for treatment and medical examination, while police have launched a search for the accused.The girl’s father alleged in his complaint that the accused entered the hut around 1.30 pm while the child was sleeping and her parents were harvesting sesame in the field.The family cultivates a 12-bigha field on Mahoba Road on a sharecropping basis and lives in the hut. On hearing the girl’s screams, her parents rushed there and allegedly found the accused in an objectionable condition. He fled after threatening them.The girl’s parents informed police and Child Helpline officials. Helpline in-charge Deepak Kumar and counsellor Seema Yadav reached the spot and conducted an inquiry. Police have registered the FIR against the accused under Pocso Act and other sections.Additional superintendent of police Vandana Singh said the case was registered on the father’s complaint and an investigation was under way. She said strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
