Times News NetworkKanpur: Moderate rain with a thunderstorm lashed the city on Wednesday afternoon, bringing down the temperature and providing respite from sultry weather.Weather conditions started changing in the afternoon, with clouds enveloping the sky around 2.30pm. Drizzle soon intensified into moderate rain accompanied by a thunderstorm. The spell continued for nearly half an hour.According to CSA University weather expert SN Sunil Pandey, around 6-8 mm of rain was recorded in areas stretching from Ganga Barrage to South Kanpur.Pandey predicted scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms on Thursday also. Thereafter, the sky is likely to become clear, with bright sunshine pushing up the temperature.A hailstorm was also reported from parts of Ghatampur tehsil.Meanwhile, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 32.2°C, which was 0.4°C below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 22.6°C, showing only a marginal change. The weather observatory recorded the maximum relative humidity at 87%.
