Vadodara: The medical superintendent of Devgadh Baria Civil Hospital in Dahod was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from eight students.ACB Gandhinagar officials laid a trap in the college on Monday evening and caught Dr Rahim Memon while taking the money. According to the ACB officials, the 59-year-old superintendent had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 each from eight students by promising to help them secure easy jobs.“The students were undergoing a district residency programme under Dr Memon. They had to do certain tasks during the programme. The accused demanded money from them by promising to give them easier tasks,” said Ashutosh Parmar, assistant director, ACB, Gandhinagar unit.“Dr Memon also promised not to harass them while on duty. The students were not willing to pay the money and they approached the ACB,” Parmar told TOI.Gandhinagar ACB sleuths laid a trap at the staff quarters on Monday evening and caught Memon accepting the bribe.
