Kanpur: Villagers blocked a road near Minda Kuan in Kanpur Dehat on Saturday, demanding action against a police outpost in-charge whose car allegedly hit and injured a 26-year-old man.Dharmendra Kumar (26) suffered a fractured leg after being allegedly hit by a car near Vijay Mandli village in the Mangalpur police station area.Villagers alleged that the vehicle belonged to the in-charge of the Narkhurd outpost under Rasoolabad police station.After returning home following treatment, Dharmendra went to the outpost on Saturday to submit an application regarding the accident.However, villagers alleged that he was made to sit at the outpost and his complaint was not acted upon immediately.Angered by the alleged inaction, a large number of villagers blocked the road near Minda Kuan and demanded action against the outpost in-charge. Police personnel from Mangalpur and Rasoolabad police stations rushed to the spot.CO Derapur Dharmendra Raghuvanshi pacified the protesters and assured them that the matter would be investigated and appropriate action taken based on the findings. The villagers subsequently lifted the blockade.Raghuvanshi said the entire matter was under investigation and that action would be taken on the basis of facts established during the inquiry.
