Kanpur: Representatives of Indian Council of Agricultural Research-ATARI, Kanpur, and AgriGuru Partner Foundation on Thursday discussed expanding digital services to provide farmers with timely and accessible solutions.ATARI Kanpur director Raghavendra Singh chaired the meeting, which was attended by AgriGuru representatives Amit Susman and Krari Leventon from Israel, Saurabh Kumar Yadav and Anjali Mishra, along with ATARI principal scientist Ajay Kumar Singh and scientists Seema Yadav and Preeti Yadav.AgriGuru representatives presented the functioning of its WhatsApp-based chatbot and its usefulness to farmers. The system allows farmers to share agriculture-related problems through WhatsApp and receive advice through photographs, videos and phone calls, as required.They also shared experiences from interactions with farmers, agriculture department officials and scientists in Sitapur district, including the chatbot’s practical use. Participants discussed using insights from these interactions to deliver agricultural advice through digital platforms.Singh explained the functioning of Kisan Sarathi, a digital platform operated by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He said it enabled farmers to receive answers to agriculture-related questions from relevant experts.
