Patna: Jan Suraaj’s candidates for the Tirhut graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies, Dr Vimohan Kumar and Shyam Nandan Yadav, filed their nomination papers here on Wednesday in the presence of party founder Prashant Kishor, who promised 10,000 jobs for unemployed graduates in the region if his candidates are elected.Addressing a nomination meeting, Kishor said the MLC election was not about forming or removing a govt but about making it accountable and checking its programmes. He also targeted the ruling establishment over the Rs 10,000 assistance distributed in Nov 2025, saying people’s hopes and expectations could not be “bought” through such payments.“The people who voted for 5 kg of grain have now awakened. They now have a new option in Jan Suraaj,” Kishor claimed.Kishor made two announcements targeting the key voter groups in the two constituencies. He said teachers, who had been struggling for their demands for nearly 30 years, would be given the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission before the next Lok Sabha election. For graduates, he promised 10,000 jobs in Tirhut. The party had initially fielded Bhushan Jha from the Tirhut teachers constituency but replaced him with Shyam Nandan Yadav after Jha decided to contest as an independent candidate.
