Patna: Rajgir Zoo Safari’s technology-driven initiatives in wildlife conservation, visitor management and surveillance have received national recognition, with Rajgir Zoo Safari director Ram Sundar M winning the ‘Best Use of Technology’ award at the Eco Warrior Awards 2026 in New Delhi on Tuesday.The award was presented at the fourth edition of the Eco Warrior Awards, organised by Indian Masterminds in collaboration with the Association of Indian Forest Service.The safari has introduced QR-based ticketing and slot management to streamline visitor entry, reduce waiting time and manage crowds. It also uses real-time GPS tracking of safari vehicles to monitor their movement and regulate vehicle density inside the safari area.A central control room and CCTV surveillance system have been deployed to monitor key visitor areas and wildlife enclosures. The system enables continuous surveillance, helps manage crowded situations and strengthens security arrangements.Technology is also being used to enhance conservation education at the safari. Visitors are introduced to biodiversity, wildlife protection and environmental conservation through digital storytelling, animations and interactive experiences.According to the official communique, the initiatives have helped integrate wildlife conservation and management with technology while improving the visitor experience. The award is also significant as Ram Sundar is the first IFS officer from the Bihar cadre to receive an Eco Warrior Award, it said.
