Bokaro: Giridih Police have arrested two men in the killing of Ritik Yadav, son of assistant sub-inspector Musafir Singh Yadav, who was allegedly beaten to death after an altercation at Maggi Point in Bandar Kuppi under Muffasil police station on Sept 24.The accused have been identified as Satish Yadav, a resident of Nawadih under Pirtand police station, and his alleged associate Anuj Kumar Yadav. Police also seized a white car without a registration number, allegedly used in the incident.Ritik, a 22-year-old resident of Rajendra Nagar, had gone to Maggi Point with friends around 11:30 pm. Satish, also from Nawadih, was reportedly present there. Police said an argument broke out between the two, after which Satish left towards Barakar. He allegedly returned soon after with associates and began looking for Ritik. The two groups later came face-to-face, and Ritik was allegedly assaulted during the confrontation. He succumbed to his injuries.Giridih SP Dr Bimal Kumar constituted a special investigation team headed by Sadar SDPO Jeetvahan Oraon to identify and arrest the accused. The team used technical surveillance and human intelligence to track the suspects. Satish and Anuj were arrested, while raids are continuing to nab other named and unnamed accused.“Based on the accused’s alleged disclosure, police seized a white car without a registration number. Investigators also collected blood samples from the scene, three bamboo sticks, a tree branch and three pairs of slippers as evidence,” said SP Giridih Bimal Kumar.A case was registered at Muffasil police station on Sept 25 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. “Satish Yadav, the main accused in Ritik’s murder, has been arrested. The team is questioning him and gathering information about the involvement of other persons in the case,” said Giridih SP. The accused were being forwarded to judicial custody.
