Patna: The revenue and land reforms department has decided to integrate the land acquisition authorities with the Revenue Court Management System (RCMS) and digitise all their records.Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said this was decided in a meeting held on Tuesday, attended by presiding officers from Patna, Gaya, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Saharsa.During the meeting, Jaiswal said all revenue courts under the department currently operate under the RCMS. Operations of the land acquisition, rehabilitation, and resettlement authorities will also align with this system. This move will streamline case hearings, record maintenance, and the monitoring of case progress through digitisation.The minister noted that the department is actively digitising its documents. As part of this process, all records held by the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authorities will also be digitised soon. Subsequently, arrangements will be made to provide citizens with digital copies of necessary records related to these authorities, he added.The minister reviewed the functioning of the six authorities and the status of pending cases. He observed that a large number of cases had accumulated because vacancies remained unfilled for extended periods. Present on the occasion were presiding officers Hemant Kumar Tripathi (Patna), Vinod Kumar Tiwari (Gaya), Sampurnanand Tiwari (Saran), Ali Ahmad (Muzaffarpur), Devraj Tripathi (Darbhanga), and Hasmuddin Ansari (Saharsa).Department secretary Jai Singh said necessary digital equipment would soon be provided to all relevant offices to facilitate improved and digital work processes. He instructed the director of the Land Acquisition Directorate, Kamlesh Kumar Singh, to initiate the necessary action by sending letters to the DMs and ADMs of the districts concerned.Other officials present at the meeting included secretary Seema Tripathi, assistant director Aajiv Vatsraj, deputy director Mona Jha, deputy secretary Avinash Kumar, IT manager Anand Shankar and under secretary Shiv Ji.
