Times News NetworkKanpur: A 17-year-old girl was brought down safely from a water tank in Bela town, Auraiya, on Monday after demanding action in a land dispute. Police administration and fire brigade teams persuaded her to descend after about 1.5 hours.The girl is the daughter of the late Surendra Singh and a resident of Simra Purwa under Bela police station. Her family alleged that a land registry deed had been executed fraudulently on July 30, 2026. She climbed the water tank on Mandi Road on Monday afternoon seeking action and justice in the matter, causing a commotion in the area.Bela Station House Officer Anilesh Kumar Yadav reached the site with police personnel. Sub-Inspector Brij Bhushan Tiwari and other officers attempted to persuade Rashmi, while fire brigade personnel handled security arrangements and appealed to her to descend.SDM Bidhuna Kamal Kumar Singh, CO Puneet Mishra and women’s police station in-charge Pooja Rathore also reached the site. Rathore spoke to the girl and helped persuade her to come down.Yadav said police obtained information from the minor about the land dispute and are investigating the facts related to her complaint.
