Patna: The family of the minor girl allegedly molested in Jamui has expressed satisfaction with the police action in the case after meeting chief minister SamratChoudhary, who assured them of the girl’s safety, education and speedy justice.Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the girl’s mother said the family was reassured by chief minister’s promise that govt would support her daughter’s future and ensure her protection.“The chief minister had called us. He assured us about everything we raised. He assured us of our daughter’s safety and education. He told us, ‘Your daughter is my daughter. Do not worry,’” she said.The mother also praised the police for acting swiftly after the incident came to light. “We are satisfied with the action. We are very happy with the way the police acted within 48 hours,” she said, referring to the arrests made in the case.However, she said the family’s primary concern now was ensuring that the girl could continue her education and live without fear. She also called for strict action against those responsible and urged authorities to ensure that no other girl faces a similar ordeal.“What happened to my daughter should not happen to any other daughter. Strict action should be taken so that criminals fear the law,” she said.The case came to light on Sept 19 after a video allegedly showing the molestation of the minor surfaced on social media, triggering widespread outrage and prompting a police investigation.Police initially detained three juveniles in connection with the case and later launched a search for the alleged main accused, NandanYadav, who was identified from the video.On Sept 22, police said Nandan was arrested after being injured in an encounter while allegedly attempting to flee. Another accused, HareRamYadav, was also apprehended after sustaining injuries during the operation.The arrests were made within days of the video surfacing, with police assuring strict action against all those involved.For the family, however, the focus has now shifted from arrests to rehabilitation. The girl’s mother said they wanted her daughter to resume her studies without fear and rebuild her life with dignity.During the meeting, chief minister reiterated govt’s commitment to supporting the girl’s education, ensuring her security and securing speedy justice in the case.
