Kanpur: A 60-year-old man was critically injured after his neighbour allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon during a suspected theft attempt at his home in Sikandarpur Sarosi village under the Kotwali area on Friday night.According to police, the victim, Naresh Kumar Jaiswal, who lives alone, alleged that his neighbour, Shahban, attacked him and fled with nearly Rs 60,000 from the house.Jaiswal told police that Shahban had allegedly entered his house in his absence. When he returned home, the accused allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon.Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and shifted Jaiswal to the district hospital around 11pm.Kotwali inspector C K Mishra said efforts were on to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation into the incident is in progress.
