Kanpur: A severed body of a 45-year-old man was found near the Khojanpur Khurd turn on Bilhaur-Makanpur Road on Tuesday morning. His head was later recovered from a roadside pit, prompting suspicion of murder.According to the family, Raj Kishor Patwa, a resident of Devha village, had left home on his bicycle to visit a grocery shop around 8am. He was later found dead by the roadside.Police said that his bicycle was found near the body, while a torn shirt collar and an angaucha were recovered some distance away.The family suspected foul play but said Patwa had no known enmity with anyone.DCP (West) S M Qasim Abidi and ACP Ankit Kumar inspected the spot along with police personnel, while a forensic team collected evidence. The body was sent for postmortem examination.Abidi said further action would be taken based on the complaint, the postmortem report and the investigation.
