Chandrapur: A 40-year-old farmer was killed in a tiger attack while he had gone to graze his buffaloes in a forest-fringe area at Samda Buz in Saoli taluka on Monday.The deceased, Hemant Ashok Bhurse, had left for his farm in the morning. When he failed to return home, family members and villagers began searching for him. They reportedly found body parts lying in a pool of blood at some distance from the farm. Tiger pugmarks were also found in the vicinity, officials said.On being alerted, police personnel along with a team from the Forest Department, led by Saoli forest range officer Vinod Dhurve, reached the spot.31 people have died in wildlife attack-related incidents in Chandrapur district this year so far, including 29 in tiger attacks and one each in elephant and leopard attacks. In 2025, 47 such deaths were recorded, including 42 in tiger attacks.
