Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 10 senior IAS officers and reassigning responsibilities across key departments including higher education, health, agriculture, food and civil supplies, energy and labour.
The reshuffle comes amid a series of administrative changes in the state in recent days. Among the most significant moves, Amit Kumar Ghosh has been shifted from the Health and Medical Education departments and appointed Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education.
One of the key changes is the transfer of Ranvir Prasad to the Energy and Additional Energy Department. He has also been given charge as chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited, Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited and UPSLDC Limited. Prasad was earlier Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies and Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies.
According to the transfer list, Dr Ashish Kumar Goel has been shifted from the Energy and Additional Energy Department and his responsibilities associated with the state power corporations. He has now been appointed Additional Chief Secretary, Labour and Employment. He was also serving as Additional Resident Commissioner, New Delhi.
Amrit Abhijat, who continues as Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, has been given additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Transport.
V. Hekali Zhimomi has been appointed Principal Secretary, Medical, Health and Family Welfare, as well as Principal Secretary, Medical Education. She was earlier handling the Forest, Environment and Climate Change portfolio.
Mahendra Prasad Agarwal has been moved to Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, from Higher Education.
In another important change, Anil Kumar has been shifted from Panchayati Raj and given charge as Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, along with responsibility as Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies and Principal Secretary, Consumer Affairs.
M.K.S. Sundaram has been moved from Labour and Employment and Technical Education to the Agriculture portfolio. His new responsibilities include Principal Secretary, Agriculture; Principal Secretary, Agricultural Education and Research; Principal Secretary, Agricultural Marketing; and Agriculture Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.
Ravinder, who was handling the Agriculture portfolio and related responsibilities, has been appointed Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj.
Amit Gupta will continue as Principal Secretary, Stamps and Registration, while also taking additional charge of Principal Secretary, Technical Education.
