Lucknow: A man carrying meat for a biryani stall was allegedly assaulted and threatened with death by three men in Itaunja on Sunday morning, after they accused him of carrying prohibited meat, police said.According to police, the victim, Rizwan runs a biryani stall near the Badi Masjid in Mahona on Sundays and Thursdays. On Sunday morning at around 8.30am, he was heading to his stall when the three men allegedly intercepted him.Police said the accused Rana Yadav, Shanu and Suraj allegedly stopped him, accused him of carrying prohibited meat, abused and assaulted him and threatened to kill him.Based on Rizwan’s complaint, an FIR was registered at Itaunja police station under Sections 351(1), 352, 115(2), 117(1) and 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Police seized the meat and sent a report to the veterinary officer. Samples have been collected and further legal action is underway, police said.
